MobileFlare was built on a simple principle: to help people in an emergency, we don't need to know anything about them.
The short version
Most privacy policies exist to explain how a company collects, stores, and uses your data. This one is different. MobileFlare does none of those things.
If you use MobileFlare, we have no way of knowing. That is intentional.
The full policy
The following covers each area typically addressed in an app privacy policy. We include it in full for transparency and to satisfy the requirements of the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and applicable data protection regulations including the UK GDPR.
MobileFlare is developed and maintained by Emmelle Studios Ltd, United Kingdom. If you have any questions about how your data is handled, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
None. MobileFlare does not collect any data from users. The app operates entirely on-device and does not transmit any information to any server, service, or third party.
MobileFlare requests only the permissions required for its core function. It accesses screen brightness controls to maximise visibility during an emergency activation, and prevents the screen from sleeping during use. No camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other device permission is requested or used.
MobileFlare contains no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or crash reporting services. The app does not integrate with any external service of any kind.
MobileFlare is suitable for users of all ages and is particularly intended to be used by younger people attending live events. As no data of any kind is collected, MobileFlare fully complies with regulations regarding children's online privacy including COPPA and the UK Children's Code.
As no data is collected, nothing is stored or retained. There is no database, no server, and no record of any user's interaction with MobileFlare.
No data is shared with, sold to, or accessible by any third party. This is not a policy choice. It is technically impossible, as no data exists to share or sell.
Under UK GDPR and equivalent regulations, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of any personal data held about you. As MobileFlare holds no personal data, these rights cannot practically be exercised, but we are always available to discuss any privacy concerns. Please use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
The MobileFlare app does not use cookies. The mobileflare.app website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 analytics cookies are only set if you explicitly accept cookies via the consent banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies.
If you submit a message via a contact form on this website, your name and email address will be stored temporarily by our form provider (Web3Forms) and forwarded to us so we can respond to your enquiry. This data is used solely for the purpose of responding to you. It is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing. Submissions are automatically deleted by Web3Forms after 30 days.
If MobileFlare's privacy practices change in any way, this page will be updated and the date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision. We do not anticipate this policy becoming more complex. Our intention is that MobileFlare remains free of data collection permanently.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or MobileFlare's approach to privacy, please get in touch using the form below. We will respond promptly.
